Which Products Make You Happy?
Tell the World and Make $5.00

1 Talk about a product on video
2 Upload your video review to ExpoTV
3 Get ready to make money!

$5.00 for every video

$.01 for every video play

$5.00 for every friend you refer

Considering that they videos need not be long (just a few minutes) it sounds good. Of course, I don’t know. Anyway, here is their link. It is a referral link (I mean, I’m not crazy.) It is free to join and they don’t expect you to give away your personal information when you sign up. Just your name, an email account, and your zip code. I don’t know yet if people are having success with it. If you do, please comment!

I recently purchased some software from WhiteSmoke, a software company. As is the norm with software purchases today, I downloaded the software online. Within 24 hours, I had trouble with the program. I emailed support and failed to get a response.

I even called their customer support line, only to be told to leave me EMAIL address so that they could get back to me. At that point, I contacted Paypal and filed a dispute.

When that failed to formulate a decent response from Whitesmoke, I tried to get Paypal to step in and issue a refund. At this point, it was about two weeks from the purchase. Paypal informed me that they only protect items that are SHIPPED. Downloaded items are not protected.

I was unaware of this. This made me realize that all those online programs (i.e. survey lists) that are being sold online that advertise “paypal protection” are wrong. If you are dissatisfied with the product, you will have to rely on Clickbank and the manufacturer to issue you a refund, Paypal will not.

Now, to give Paypal credit, they did contact the company and issue them a warning. Basically, they put pressure on the company to give me a refund. This happened to work. (You have to talk to a supervisor to get them to do this.)

I have been doing interactions with Paypal for over three years, and I never realized how much of the fine print I had not read. I would have been safer in this case to use my credit card to make a purchase rather than paypal.

Live and learn, right?

I received in the mail today a notice that my poem had received the Editor’s Choice Award at poetry.com.

Now, consider that the poem I submitted took me about 1 minute to write and I did it as to receive points for one of the PTC/PTP sites.

The poem, in a word, SUCKS. Don’t believe me? Here is the poem:

Love is kind;
Love is wanting;
Love is scarce;
Love is hunting;
Love is what we are all looking for.
What you love is what you are.

As I said, I wrote something to submit because I would receive points. I do not consider that anything but a joke. Why did I receive the “editor’s choice” award? Because it was really a means to get me to BUY three CD set for $49.00 plus $8 shipping.

This is a scam, one that I’m sure many people fall for because it is so very hard to get acknowledged as a writer or poet.

But they are simply trying to make money off people by using compliments.

Obviously, because that poem sucks!

Back in October I received an invitation to apply to EssayEdge. The application process was extensive and part of the process involved me revising a somewhat lengthy essay and return it with notes. This did not alarm me. I doubt I would work for any company that would hire me without some type of writing test.

I submitted the application and on October 13th I received confirmation that my application had been received and that they try to “review all submissions and respond to applicants within one week.”

A week went by…Nothing. Two weeks…Nothing. Three weeks…You guessed it: Nothing!

I tried contacting them, but my email was returned. Then, on Tuesday I received an email from EssayEdge that said in part: “We think you could make a great freelance editor for EssayEdge, and we would love to have you apply!”

Hello? I promptly emailed back saying that I had applied over a month earlier and had never received a response. Then, I went back and looked at who had initially contacted me and stated that they had received my application–it was the SAME PERSON!

You know, I don’t mind not getting a job. Writing is often a matter of choice and not ability. But don’t keep bothering me to apply when you have ignored my application. I have the feeling that my annoyance was obvious when I replied to the person. But, dang it, I spent the time to submit an application. At the very least I am owed a couple of sentences stating that I didn’t get the job, if that was the case. I doubt they even looked at the application.

It will be interesting to see if I get response to my emails. The woman had contacted me on Tuesday afternoon and I have yet to receive a response, not surprising with the holiday weekend and all.

But if this is any sign of how they handle things, I am not sure I want to work for them. They obviously don’t have things together. I will update you when I know more.

I have recently started receiving a lot of spams comments on my blog. This is very annoying, but its teaching me how to combat these spammers. I have started logging their email and IP addresses. They will be blocked and reported as spammers. I feel this is a form of harassment and extremely annoying. I have also changed things so that comments will not appear until I approve them. Therefore, if anyone tries to post about their irrelevant site or product, it won’t get shown.

I haven’t done a lot of research on this compnany, but here is why I feel it is probably a scam.

Tons of grammatical errors on their web site.

They claim to be “partnerned” with the USPS. USPS doesn’t partner with anyone.

The are not asking you to submit enough information to apply. I have applied to several business online. They ALWAYS want a resume. All this company is asking for is generic information. They should want to know you are qualified before wasting time contacting you IF they were legitimate.

They provide a U.S. phone number, but no U.S. address. They must have one in order to have that phone number, why aren’t they providing it?

They are located in Russia. This type of business would have a US headquarters. Why? Because they are exporting goods outside of the US.

I also did a whois check and discovered that www.partner-millennium.com. Guess what?

The site was started by a woman who lives in Emeryville, California named Pam Bowser. For some reason, I know I have seen this city links with this scam (but not that site) before.

Take heed!! This site looks real on its face, but you will be out a lot of money if you fall for it. Do not apply!! I swear, it is a scam.

I do feel like I have abandoned my site a little lately. I haven’t been to Spam.com in at least a week. I haven’t even checked my email for surveys. Part of it comes from doing a lot of work for constant-content and other editing jobs.
More of it comes from the release of Sims 2 expansion pack. If you have not played Sims yet, and you have a few weeks to kill, I encourage you to look into it. It is highly-addicting and time consuming. But dang, it’s fun.

I have also been very distracted by some external, potentially life-changing and exciting events. I am keeping my fingers crossed and my toes crossed and can’t say more for fear I will jinx it. I do plan on updating my site later this week with some things I have learned and experienced. I simply haven’t had the enthusasim to give it the energy it deserves. I apologize and hope you’re not too disappointed.
Best Wishes,

Well, I got my first check from American Consumer Opinion. It was for $8.00. That’s right, I’ve earned tons of cash from them so far. That $8.00 will get me far. I can go to a matinee, have dinner at a fast food restaurant, or perhaps buy a couple gallons of gas. What I can not do is use it to pay my rent or my bills.

One of the most frequently asked questions is which surveys payout the best. Yes, you can earn a couple of dollars from them. Sometimes. But most of the time you’re not getting much. Of course, I don’t do it as much as I could. Doing it for too long is boring and gets repetitive. You are basically clicking and reading. I get tired of doing it.

I would not recommend surveys as a way of making a living. So far, I have found the best results with writing. But it is not constant and can be nerve-wracking at times.

But, at least I don’t have to commute.
