Free Survey Companies

K - P

I'd like to remind you that all of these links should be to free surveys. If they are not, please let me know. I tried to check them out before hand but I may have missed something. They are listed in alphabetical order and all links will pop up in a new window.

Codes: BBB = Better Business Bureau; AMA = American Marketing Association; ARF = Advertising Research Foundation; CASRO = Council of American Survey Research Organizations; MRA = Marketing Research Association.

Keynote Research Panel
AKA: Vividence Research Panel, Keynote Corporation
777 Mariners Island Blvd, San Mateo, CA 94404
(650) 403-2400
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, or CASRO (but I haven't looked under Keynote). The site seems very professional and they offer payments in the forms of Amazon gift certificates. They do state that "not all evaluations offer rewards. Your invitation to participate in an evaluation will specify whether there is a reward, and if so, the amount and type of reward."

Kids Panel
AKA: Audience Profiler
394 Pacific Ave., Suite 300, San Francisco, CA, 94111
(415) 677-5701
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB, but they are members of the AMA. This company is looking for kids and parents. Kids must seek parents permission first. Site is very professional and does list the contact information on the parent permission form.

Leibowitz Market Research
3120 Whitehall Park Dr., Charlotte, NC 28273
(704) 357-1961
Comments: This company has been a member of the BBB since May 1987 and are members of the AMA and MRA. Their site is okay with contact information clearly listed. They do not give any information about rewarding people for their participation.

Lightspeed Researchblank
180 Mount Airy Road, Suite 100, Basking Ridge, NJ 07920
(908) 630-0542
Comments: They are members of the BBB and members of the AMA, MRA, and CASRO. Their contact information is listed, but buried at the bottom of their terms of conditions. Participants in their survey earn "Lightspeed Points" redeemable for gift certificates, a deposit into your PayPal account, or other prizes. They also earn sweepstakes entrances for point and cash giveaways. Very professional site and one I was willing to join. On a recent survey I received they told me it would take 20 minutes and I would receive 75 lightspeed points plus earn an entry into their $5,000 Lightspeed Sweepstakes and be entered into today's 5,000 Points-A-Day Giveaway. I am affiliated with Lightspeed through Commission Junctin. Here is the direct link: Lightspeed Research.

Live Surveys.Com

Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. Their website is professional but extremely vague. Although they say the have been in business since 1997, all they would mention about where they were located was "in the western suburbs of Chicago." They won't even state what city! They entire site lacked the basics of information (like what you'd get for participating) that other sites have and I would recommend caution if you chose to join.

Market Surveys

Comments: Another "business" that displays Google ads. Would it surprise you if I said that this company was not listed with the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, CASRO, or ARF? I didn't think so. They don't list even the basic information on their site. They do mention that they are "a subsidiary of The Dohring Company" but don't even list basic information about that company! Warning! Their privacy statement says that they "share Personally Identifiable Information with [a] third party providing offers." Joining them is just asking for junk mail and lots of spam. Stay away!

Market View Research
115 River Road, Suite 105, Edgewater, NJ 07020
(201) 840-5300
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB, but they are members of CASRO. According to them "at the same time you will be entered into random drawings to win cash or merchandise prizes every single time you participate in one of our surveys." Could be a lot of work for very little reward. Otherwise, it was a professional looking site with contact information easily found.

Media Transfer
Beim Strohhause 31, 20097 Hamburg, Germany
+49 (0) 40 669 625 0
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB, and they are not members of CASRO, ARF, AMA or MRA. Their website was professional and contact information could be found once you got to the English version of the corporate website. They stated that "You will receive virtual points for participation in our projects - our so-called MTs - which you can exchange with our incentive partners." I would use caution whenever dealing with a foreign company.

Memolink Surveys
Comments: This is not really a survey company. You "earn" money by joining their affiliated survey companies and signing up for "offers." For more information on this company, please check out my page on survey lookalikes.

Mindfield Online
AKA: McMillion Research
1012 Kanawha Blvd E, Suite 301, Charleston, WV 25301
(800) 969.9235
Comments: This company has been a member of the BBB since April 2004 and are members of the AMA. They have a very good website (even if their address isn't clearly visible, phone numbers are). They are even willing to list the incentives for their past 50 surveys. I have yet to see any other company do this. Very nice.

MORVO
AKA: Your Say, OVAGO,
Comments: This is not really a survey company. You "earn" money by joining their affiliated survey companies and signing up for "offers." For more information on this company, please check out my page on survey lookalikes. Music Research Consultants
8344 Kirkwood Drive, Los Angeles, CA 90046
(323) 654-7560
Comments: This company is a member of the BBB, but they are not members of CASRO, ARF, MRA or AMA. If you love music, you'll like this one. Basically you get to listen to a song either by a famous (such as Mariah Carey) or unknown artist. Each time you finish a rating you earn points towards downloads. Oddly enough, they never state how many points you need to earn one of these downloads. However, they also offer free Mp3 downloads. This site is strictly for music lovers who should enjoy listening to some new music with the opportunity of telling people what they think.

mySurveyRewards
Comments: This is not really a survey company. You "earn" money by joining their affiliated survey companies and signing up for "offers." For more information on this company, please check out my page on survey lookalikes.

The Net Panel
P.O. Box 1119, Old Chelsea Station, New York, NY 1011
No phone number listed
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the ARF, MRA, AMA, or CASRO. Also, they clearly state that you will "receive offers from leading companies based on your interests" (aka: SPAM). Their address was in small print at the bottom of an overly long privacy policy and no phone number was ever listed. I am affiliated with them through Commission Junction, but I would use your better judgment before signing up. Here is the direct link: The Net Panel

NFO MySurvey.com
2700 Oregon Road, Northwood, Ohio, 43619
(800) 537-4097
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB, nor are they members of CASRO, AMA, or MRA. They reward their participants through the use of both sweepstakes and points. According to them, you can "redeem points for cash, prizes, charity donations, or a raffle ticket with just a few simple clicks." Still, they clearly list their address and phone number and it has been recommended to me by other people. The jury is still out on this company.

Nielsen/NetRatingsblank
120 West 45th Street, New York, NY 10036
(212) 703-5900
Comments: They are members of the BBB, and also members of CASRO. You need to download software that tracks what websites you visit. Address was not available on the website, but was with the BBB. You are rewarded for you participation with an entry into their sweepstakes. You earn additional sweepstakes for every survey you take and every month you are there. The software is safe and won't slow down your computer, but it was too "big brother is watching" for my comfort. But if you always wanted to be a Nielson family, go for it. I am affiliated with Nielson through Commision Junction. Here is the direct link: Nielsen Net Panel.

NPD Online Research
900 West Shore Road, Port Washington, NY 11050
(866) 444-1411
Comments: They are members of the BBB, CASRO and MRA. NPD Online Research does not pay panel members for completing surveys or use a point system. Instead most of their studies "involve drawings for cash or other prizes" and sometimes "cash rewards." Their address and phone number was difficult to find on their website (and I ended up looking at their corporate site) but was very professional looking.

Opinions Direct
Comments: They are part of Vente, Inc. Please see that entry for more information.

Opinion Outpost
701 East Timpanogos Parkway, Building M, Orem, UT 84097
(877) 254-1234
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. Their address is listed online. Although their site is a little cheesy, it is still better than some I've seen. According to them, you earn points for completing surveys (ten points=$1.00) and each survey will let you know the amount of points you will receive for taking the survey. I am an affiliate of Opinion Outpost, which means I earn $1 for every new member who joins. Here is the direct link for Opinion Outpost.

Opinions Paid.Com
No address listed
07 3026 3000
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the Market Research Society of Australia. That's right--they are located in Australia. They state that most surveys will take at least 15 minutes and you'll only be rewarded points for your work, redeemable for prizes (the best example they could offer of the prizes was a toaster!). Also, I couldn't find any address listed for them on their site. I would use caution when dealing with them.

Opinion Place

Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. This might be a good deal for AOL members (who can earn $4.50 towards their AOL bill), but I'm not sure about others. However, they state that "you may only take one survey every 14 days" if you qualify. If you don't qualify, you have to wait 7 days before trying again. Non-AOL members can earn AAdvantage points or an entry towards a monthly $500 sweepstakes. The lack of any substantial reward, contact information or professional affiliations would make me nervous about joining. Plus, I'm not a member of AOL.

Opinion Site
16 East 41 Street, New York, NY 10017
(212) 213-2132
Comments: They are members of the BBB, but are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. The day I tried to research them, their website was down. I will try again later.

Opinion Search
21800 Melrose, #12, Southfield, MI 48075
(248) 358-9922
Comments: They have been a member of the Better Business Bureau since October 1993. They are also members of CASRO. AMA and MRA. They don't say that you have to live in Michigan, but the only mention of payment is $50 for a two-hour focus group. They don't mention if they do, or if they pay, for online surveys.

OpinionSquare
11465 Sunset Hills Road, #200, Reston, VA 20190
No phone number listed
Comments: They are not members but have a satisfactory record with the BBB. They are not members of CASRO, AMA or MRA. They do not list their address on their site (I found it with the BBB) and no phone number could be found. They state that "every time you complete a qualifying survey, you will earn points which you can accumulate and redeem for prizes." You know how I feel about companies that don't readily list contact information, so I won't repeat myself here.

Opinion Surveys
Comments: This site is actually part of Greenfield Online. For more information, see that entry.

OVAGO
AKA: MORVO, Your Say,
Comments: This is not really a survey company. You "earn" money by joining their affiliated survey companies and signing up for "offers." For more information on this company, please check out my page on survey lookalikes.

Panda Research
AKA: A & A Marketing, Inc.

Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. This site was selling a little too hard and the offers sounded too good. I don't recommend them.

Permission Research
No address listed
No phone number listed
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. They don't clearly list any contact information other than email and state that "the program sponsor is TMRG, Inc., a Delaware, U.S.A. corporation," oddly enough located at 11465 Sunset Hills Rd., Suite 200, Reston, VA 20190. No phone numbers could be found. They offer an affiliate program, but I didn't join because they don't give enough information for me to recommend them.

Planet Panel
No address listed
No phone number listed
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. They seem to try to lull you into submission with lots of staff photos. Notice there are no last names listed for the staff nor is their any other contact information. A very professional looking site, but I still don't trust them.

Product Testing Services
Comments: This is not really a survey company. You "earn" money by joining their affiliated survey companies and signing up for "offers." For more information on this company, please check out my page on survey lookalikes.

Pop Culture Survey
Comments: This is not really a survey company. You "earn" money by joining their affiliated survey companies and signing up for "offers." For more information on this company, please check out my page on survey lookalikes.

Promosquad
21 Bay Street, Glens Falls, NY 12801
No phone number
Comments: I could find them listed in the BBB and there was insufficient information for the BBB to issue a report. They are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. This site wouldn't give me any information unless I was a member--even about how to contact them. They also use one of my biggest pet peeves and cause the back button to stop working. Hijacking web browsers is not a tactic that legitimate companies use. Stay Away from them.

PSB Associates
No address listed
No Phone number listed
Comments: I could not find them listed in the BBB and they are not members of the AMA, MRA, ARF, or CASRO. They state that they have offices in "Washington, DC, Denver, New York, and Seattle" but don't list a single address or phone number. They claim they offer cash rewards for surveys on occasion, but their unwillingness to give out contact information makes me to nervous to join. Use your own best judgment.
